Correct size and inexpensive April 27, 2010 Josephine Valentin (Bronx) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Thanks to Amazon for having such a great selection of different items. I just purchaded thid computer desk and I could not be more satisfy. I could fit my printer, hard drive,a rack for my cds and space for other stuff. It is not to big or to small but just right for the space that I have. I have been to different store looking for the right desk but nothing caught my eye either they were to high or to big . so I went to Amazon and sure enough I found just what I was looking for. I highly recommend this desk for the quality, size and price which is very inexpensive.
Great and inexpensive desk! June 25, 2010 bewise26 This desk is extraordinary. It gave me the option of not spending that much money and supports my basics needs: Homework, laptop, wireless keyboard and mouse. This desk DID take awhile to set up, but it was definitely worth it! Shipping only took 3-5 business days, and best of all it was free! I love this desk and amazon! Great buy!
Good for the price August 18, 2010 Benjamin Matthies The desk is sturdy, and was relatively straightforward to put together. It took me a little over an hour to assemble, which isn't bad considering how many pieces there were, but it would have gone more quickly if the instructions had been clearer in places. The various shelves and storage spaces are exactly what I was looking for, and I'm very happy with what I got for the price. However, I wouldn't pay what they're asking on other sites.
The materials are, bluntly, cheap crap. I had to practically break several of the cams to keep them from immediately loosening, and every one of them had bits of metal flaking off. Incidentally, you'll also want to use your own screwdriver--the one provided isn't long enough to get much torque. The actual boards seem strong enough to do the job, but the 'chocolate' laminate was physically lifting away around some of the screw holes, so I expect it to start peeling sooner or later. The solution for supporting the middle shelf on the right side of the unit was also disappointing: an extra cam screw shoved into a hole in the metal bar.
All that said, the desk actually is sturdy now that it's in one piece, and I expect to get a lot of good use out of it. If you're looking for something cheap with a lot of interesting storage space, and are willing to sacrifice on quality, this is what you're looking for.
its beautilful but... July 21, 2010 D. W. Hill i was extremely excited to get this desk! i didnt have to wait long for it to arrive on my doorstep and i drug it into the house with a huge smile on my face! then i opened the package and started assembling it...while the pieces were super strong and an absolutely gorgeous color-putting this desk together was more than a challenge! there were HOLES MISSING!! like the desk top went through the factory and it missed a step where 4 holes just werent drilled. the holes were for the roll-out keyboard rack which i didnt really care about so i didnt return it...but i probably should have! as i continued to assemble it was wobbling, some of the screws didnt fit in the holes right and now the desk is staying upright by shear gravity! thank goodness for gravity lol! im not sure that i would recommend this desk to anyone but now that its pretty much pieced together and propped up against a wall its very nice...just a bit wonky : /
Very Disappointed August 19, 2010 D. G. Billingsley (Texas) This is the worst design and engineering I have ever seen. The pieces look good and sturdy by themselves but when you try to put them together everything goes to the dogs. All of the pieces are held together by nothing but 27 locking bolts and connecters or cams. Most of the connecters won't lock into place properly but the worst part is that the bolts are only screwed 5/16" deep into cheap plastic inserts in the panels. This provides NO structural strength at all. The slightest movement and the bolts rip out of the threads. Adding some wood dowels would probably solve the problem. I've put together countless pieces of office furniture in the past and I've never seen anything this poorly made. All of this being said, customer service at RTA Products is very good. If you have missing or broken pieces they're very quick to send out replacements under warranty.
