Great for the price August 5, 2005 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I almost didn't get this file cart after reading several of the reviews on here where people talked about having difficulties putting it together. I did get it though and I'm glad. I don't know if this product has been improved or I got lucky with a good one, but it was easy to put together and is a sturdy, nice looking piece of furnature. I put it together in about 20 minutes and didn't even need to use the instructions (or a drill or a hammer). The only draw back I can see is that the drawer has a weak bottom and was really only made to hold files.
Easy, Sturdy and Beautiful! August 9, 2005 Keith Rogers (Orlando, FL) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I've put together two of these, I use them as night stands. They are easy to put together. The come with instrucions and extra screws. I suggest using a POWER DRILL though to screw them together because the pre-drilled holes for the drawer are a snug fit. Unlike some other reviewers that said they "hammered" theirs together and were wobbely, mine is VERY STURDY. About 30 minutes total.
Can't beat the price, good and sturdy December 2, 2004 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
Hey, for a "put it together yourself, comes in a box deal" this cabinet is far better than the cost! Easy to put together, sturdy and the bottom drawer can be used to store things not just for files (we use it for music equipment and CD's) the middle shelf we use for storing old vinyl and the top is for our turntable. It's pretty large, bigger than it appears and worked out PERFECTLY for it's intended purpose.
Great Piece for the price.!! June 18, 2003 Lawrence (Iowa) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
First off, I have many pieces of furniture made from this type of wood. Its called rubberwood, and is a hardwood from overseas. It is strong and lightweight, and I find it holds up over time. See I was looking for a stand for my TV in the basement, and I hate all the presswood furniture out there. This was a good solution for my needs and a great value to boot. The cart was a breeze to put together and looks great in my basement... Hope this helps. Cheers!!
Beautiful April 8, 2008 Grad School Student (New York) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am a huge fan of the Mission-style in furniture and have several natural-colored pieces in my apartment. The finish on this piece is very smooth and light. I only saw one scratch mark on one of the sides, but it is not very noticeable unless you look extra close. Assembly was also pretty easy if you follow the directions carefully. It took me about 15 minutes to put together by myself, but I'm sure if there are two people, it would go faster. This file cart is being used as a night stand right now. The height of the table top is perfect because it allows me to read the alarm clock when I am laying down. The shelf is perfect for storing books or magazines. The only downside is that the drawer bottom is pretty flimsy (the drawer really was made for file storage). I'm sure there are some methods to re-enforce the bottom that would make it suitable for moderate storage.
